Hot on the heels of the relaunch of its lobby and ground-floor dining venues, Caravelle Saigon in Lam Son Square is keeping the momentum going with the appointment of a new Deputy General Manager, Mrs. Tran Vo Hieu Thuan.
Trained in hospitality and tourism at institutes in Switzerland and the UK, Thuan is no stranger to representing historic Vietnamese hotels. She began her career as a sales and marketing specialist with Saigon Tourist Co., before assuming the role of Assistant General Manager at the waterfront Hotel Majestic Saigon, one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most time-honoured properties.
After two years at the Hotel Majestic, in 2013 Thuan took the reins as Deputy General Manager of another storied establishment, the Hotel Continental Saigon, also in Lam Son Square. Last month, Caravelle Saigon officially welcomed the up-and-coming executive to her new position at one of Saigon’s flagship five star hotels, which is currently undergoing a significant renovation of its rooms and facilities.
Thuan received her Bachelor Degree in Tourism Management from the HCM City Open University and her Post-Graduate Degree in Hospitality Management from the Hotel Institute in Montreux, Switzerland. She also holds a Master of Tourism from the University of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom.
