This March, we’re excited to invite you to the first wine dinner of the year with First Lady of New Zealand Wine, Jane Hunter. 

Born into a grape growing family, Hunter has gone on to claim an OBE and win numerous awards for her services to the wine industry. For the dinner, we will introduce you to 5 wines from her family winery in Marlborough, New Zealand.

The evening begins with a shrimp and crab salad, served with delicate squash blossoms and pickled vegetable spaghetti in a chilled tomato consommé. This is accompanied by a glass of Sauvignon Blanc from Hunter’s extensive white collection. Another salad follows with whipped goats cheese in a rainbow of tomato, beetroot and basil garnishes, paired with a crisp Riesling. The fresh fruit character of the final white, a Chardonnay, compliments a light Dover sole while your final savoury course of slow cooked beef belly is enjoyed with a rich and spicy Pinot Noir. Finish off with the classic taste of mint chocolate and toast with a coffee or tea to a night well spent.
