CARAVELLE ORGANIZES A “RUN FOR GREEN” IN RESPONSE TO EARTH HOUR 2024
On March 16th, 2024, Caravelle Associates and Hotel Management joined forces to participate in the "Run for Green" event, aiming to raise awareness and advocate the message that every small action towards environmental conservation can have a significant impact.
All are to contribute to national sustainable development, aligning with Vietnam's goal of achieving net zero emissions in the future.

CARAVELLE FLIPS THE SWITCH FOR EARTH HOUR 2024
Caravelle Saigon stands with the global community in its commitment to environmental preservation and carbon emission reduction. From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Caravelle will switch off all lights on its façade, and the hotel’s restaurants and bars will serve dinner and drinks by candlelight. We also invite our in-house guests to participate by turning off unnecessary lights and appliances during this hour.
This annual Earth Hour event symbolizes more than a gesture towards energy conservation; it represents a united stand for hope and collective action for the planet. As a leader in sustainable hospitality and the first in Vietnam to achieve EarthCheck Platinum status, Caravelle Saigon proudly continues our tradition of participating in Earth Hour, highlighting our ongoing commitment to the environment.

LED LIGHTING IN ROOMS
We are pleased to share further green initiatives within our new guestrooms. All rooms now feature LED lighting, replacing traditional bulbs that consume a large amount of energy. The light-emitting diode (LED) is today's most energy-efficient lighting technology, which could help reduce electricity consumption for lighting by up to 80% and last 25 times longer than incandescent lighting.
Along with our new master lighting control panel situated within reach of your bed, our rooms are also equipped with a motion-sensor light at the entrance that will turn the lights on when they detect any motion and automatically turn the light off after a certain period. The widespread use of LED lighting in our rooms and all our Front of house areas will significantly impact our energy-saving initiatives for 2020 and beyond.

GREEN CARAVELLE FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT
In 2019, Caravelle Saigon led in innovative sustainability efforts ahead of its 2020 refurbishment completion. It stood out as an independent hotel pioneering green practices. Achieving EarthCheck platinum certification in 2020, it became Vietnam's sole property with this prestigious status since 2015.
The newly renovated guest rooms boast energy-saving LED lighting and double-glazed windows, aimed at reducing reliance on air conditioning and enhancing insulation. Additionally, in-room amenities like shavers, toothbrushes, and combs are crafted from biodegradable wheat husk material.
Our primary goal is to inspire our staff, their families, and guests to adopt eco-conscious practices to reduce carbon emissions gradually. As we look forward to the promising year of 2024, Caravelle remains steadfast in its commitment to expanding green initiatives for a more sustainable environment.
