Saigon Saigon Rooftop Bar was one of Saigon's most luxurious rooftop bars from the 1950s and 1960s, a frequent haunt of the elite. Amid the turbulence of the Vietnam War, when high-rise buildings were scarce, it became a special "observation post" for international reporters and military officials—a place to update and transmit breaking news about Saigon to the world until 1975. It was here that Hubert Van Es captured a moment frozen in history—April 29, 1975. An image that would come to define the final hours before the fall of Saigon. From this height, the world bore witness.
Through decades of transformation, while Saigon evolved into a vibrant, modern metropolis, the bar has remained remarkably true to its origins. Carefully preserved, its space endures as a living testament—where echoes of the past linger gracefully within the rhythm of the present.
