Since our doors first opened in 1959, Caravelle has become an integral part of Saigon’s rich tapestry, weaving together stories of elegance, luxury, and outstanding hospitality.

At 10 stories, it was the most luxurious hotel and tallest building in the City, it was the first fully air-conditioned building, and it had a state of the art telephone system with phones in every guest room. It was also the only hotel with a backup generator to cope with frequent power outages.

Much later, the Hotel was one of the first businesses to install a fax machine and received not only communications for guests, but became a fax receipt hub for many locals in the city. Uniquely we could say the hotel was one of the 1st mix use hotels, with Air France, the Australian Embassy, the New Zealand Embassy all occupying space within the Hotel, together with 100 rooms, restaurants and bars.

Over these remarkable 65 years, Caravelle has enhanced the experience of millions of travelers who have passed through our doors. Each guest has left behind invaluable memories, contributing to the proud heritage of our hotel. As we reflect on this journey, we recognize that Caravelle Saigon is more than just a destination; it is a symbol of timeless elegance and has made significant contributions to the development of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, and this is a source of immense pride for all of us.
